Qinghai newly added 203 provincial essential medicines

Recently, Qinghai Province announced the “Catalogue of Essential Drugs Supplementary Drugs for Primary Health Care Institutions in Qinghai Province” (2011 edition), supplementing a total of 203 provincial essential drugs, including 132 kinds of Chinese and Tibetan drugs, which accounted for 65% of the supplemented drugs. The province can use 510 kinds of essential drugs.

In order to promote the development of China’s and Tibet’s pharmaceutical industry, give full play to the advantages of China’s and Tibet’s medical specialty, and meet the needs of the medical and health organizations at the primary level and the habits of ethnic drugs, Qinghai Province has supplemented 203 kinds of provincial basic medicines, including 132 kinds of Tibetan medicines. Sixty-five percent of the total varieties were added, and 71 kinds of chemical drugs accounted for 35%. Among the 72 supplemented proprietary Chinese medicines, there are 42 kinds of medicine for internal medicine, 5 kinds of surgical drugs, 10 kinds of gynecological drugs, 4 kinds of pediatric medicines, 3 kinds of ENT drugs, 1 ophthalmic medicine, and 7 kinds of orthopedics medicines; 60 kinds of medicines. Among the Tibetan medicines, 7 were for rheumatism, 5 for gentian, 3 for white vein, 6 for bacon, 5 for fever, 19 for visceral disease, and 2 for epidemic. There are 1 drug for rickets, 3 drugs for women's disease, 2 drugs for pediatric patients, 2 drugs for facial diseases, and 5 drugs for secondary brucellosis.

Qinghai Province implemented the basic drug system in the township hospitals, urban community health service agencies and administrative village clinics of the entire province, and achieved full coverage of the basic drug system in the country.
