In 2012, according to business needs, the hospital began to plan and build a wireless ward round system, further accelerating and improving the informationization process of Peking University First Hospital.

The construction of the wireless ward round system of the First Hospital of Peking University faces many challenges, such as complex wireless coverage areas, secure isolation of wireless networks and wired networks, seamless roaming of Layer 3 services, and reliable user access authentication. Therefore, on the basis of ensuring high reliability and stability, the network must be designed with accurate and reasonable deployment of wireless points, physical isolation of dual-network interconnection, precise adjustment of power between APs, and identity authentication of wireless access users. .

Complex wireless coverage: The WLAN network of this project needs to cover more than 30 horseshoe wards, more than 30 operating rooms and CT rooms, and other functional office areas such as nurse stations. And the structure of the hospital ward is different from ordinary buildings. If the wireless signal is emitted from the corridor, affected by the separate toilet and other partitions, it is necessary to penetrate 2 thickened walls, which is difficult to completely cover the inside of the ward, which has a great impact on the stable access of the equipment.

Security isolation between wireless network and wired network: The original wired network carries the operation of important service systems such as HIS, LIS and PACS. Therefore, in order to ensure the security of the wired network, it is necessary to fully consider the connection between the wireless network and the original wired network. Security, to avoid the unstable operation of the entire network due to insecure factors in the wireless network.

Seamless roaming of Layer 3 services: The realization of the wireless rounds system requires medical personnel to use the handheld terminal to upload and download the rounds data in the hospital area. This requires that the medical data must be maintained while the medical staff is moving. Connection status to prevent data loss, so seamless roaming of Layer 3 services is especially important.

Reliable user access authentication: Users who use the wireless network are medical personnel. They must authenticate users accessing the wireless network, avoid unauthorized users, and divide the usage rights of legitimate access users. The entire network is in a manageable and controllable state.
