Fertilization. 84-24 Grafted watermelons grew vigorously in the early days, and the fruit setting rate was not high. Artificial pollination was conducted on September 6 and the fruit set rate on September 11 was less than 50%. In the greenhouse, due to the individual size of the seedlings, the degree of damage caused by previous diseases and pests, and the orientation of the planting, the watermelon grows differently and should be properly adjusted during artificial pollination. For plants that thrive, all plants can be pollinated, and plants with weaker growth should be appropriately reduced in pollination. Flowers for profit. Artificial pollination should be carried out daily and rainy days until the beginning of October. Artificial pollination is more laborious, and bees can be placed directly in the shed. Fine pruning: When the autumn watermelon grows, it also produces weak side vines. These vines are late in flowering, so it is not easy to set fruit and consume nutrients. They should be cut off. After vigorously growing plants, these weak side vines should be cut off after the fruit set, otherwise the vines will be cut prematurely and easily caused. "Running vines" will affect fruit settling; weak growing plants should be removed in a timely manner to reduce nutrient consumption. Topping up in early October, removing the young fruit after natural pollination, ensuring that nutrients can be supplied to mature fruits. Re-expanding melon fertilizer: Grafted watermelon due to strong early growth, in order to prevent the "running vine", early melon, generally halved by basal. After the watermelon fruit set in mid-September, the swelled melon fertilizer should be re-applied in a timely manner, and 40 kg of compound fertilizer should be applied per mu. Watermelon fertilization should be dry, this is the traditional experience of farmers in Cixi, wetland fertilization can easily lead to watermelon disease (refers to human fecal material); in the state of wetland, watermelon cell concentration after water absorption is low, then fertilization can easily cause water reversal, Both cause the watermelon "Swallow vine."
