Two Methods to Improve Female Rabbits' Fertility

The female rabbit has 1 month of gestation and 35-40 days of postpartum lactation. If the female rabbit is to be reared after weaning, the rabbit can only produce 4 to 5 births a year. In commercial rabbit production, the following breeding methods can be used to increase fertility in female rabbits. Semi-frequent breeding: Female rabbits are bred 14 to 15 days or 10 to 28 days after farrowing, and puppies are weaned at 35 days of age. This method can shorten the breeding cycle, and it can breed 5-6 tires per year. Frequent breeding methods: The female rabbits can be bred within 1 to 3 days after delivery, and the pups are weaned at 28 days of age, allowing the female rabbits to produce 6 to 8 tires per year. With frequent breeding or semi-frequent breeding, female rabbits should be provided with sufficient quality feed to meet the nutritional needs of female rabbits and to ensure the growth and development of the fetus and its own physiological needs. If the female rabbit is robust and can give proper feeding and management, breeding by the above two methods will have no adverse effects on the female rabbit's conception rate, litter size, growth and development of the pups and the female rabbit itself.
