When the author worked in the feed factory, he encountered that the farmers reported that the feed had a good effect, but the dust was too large during use. After spraying 1.5% of soy oil on the feed, there was no such problem. During the visit, it was found that some farmers added 1% fat to the feed in the summer, and they also achieved better production results in the case of reduced feed intake; in the winter, they did not add fat to the feed, and the chicken had a good production performance. However, there is a prevalence of excessive feed intake. the author thinks:
1. Due to the improvement of processing technology, the residual oil ratio in the raw materials for the cake type is reduced, and when the concentrated feed material is not refueled, the appearance is dry, and dust is easy to be produced, resulting in the loss of energy. After 1%-1.5% refueling, the concentrated feed has a moist appearance, inhibits the flying of dust, and makes up for the lack of energy in the concentrated feed.
2. When the ambient temperature exceeds 30°C, the internal circulation of the chicken is significantly accelerated, and the demand for nutrients increases. The main increase is the energy demand. The problem of insufficient energy due to high temperature-induced food intake is even more pronounced. Under such circumstances, only increasing the concentration of nutrients in the feed, especially the increase in energy content, can solve the problem of decreased egg production. When the temperature is too low, if the ambient temperature is lower than 2°C, the birds will have a significant increase in energy requirements to maintain normal body temperature. At this time, chickens can increase their energy requirements by increasing their feed intake, and at the same time increase the loss of protein feed. In raw materials for feeds, protein raw materials have been relatively scarce, and energy raw materials have been relatively loose. If energy content is increased in feed, the loss of protein raw materials can be reduced, and production costs can also be reduced.
3. The energy content of oil and fat is more than twice that of protein and carbohydrates. Adding oil to feed can make it easier to compensate for the lack of energy in feed.
4. Adding fats and oils to the feed increases the nutrient concentration of the feed and improves the utilization of the feed. At the same time, it reduces the disposal of livestock and poultry excrement and the pollution to the environment. At the same time, it reduces the cost of handling livestock and poultry excrement.
5. Adding fats and oils to the feed can improve the palatability of the feed.
