Guangdong ordered 18 health food enterprises to stop production

It is understood that the Guangdong Food and Drug Administration Bureau has ordered 18 companies to suspend production of health foods, and 38 cases have been transferred to public security agencies, and 17 have been detained since the province launched the “Four Non-Act” campaign against health foods in May this year.

According to the person in charge of the Department of Health Food Supervision of the Food and Drug Administration of Guangdong Province, since the launch of the special campaign, the province has issued 46,901 law enforcement officers, supervised and inspected 2,073 companies, sampled 766 batches of products, and detected 48 batches of illegally added samples. The company ordered 18 production and shutdown health food enterprises, canceled 21 production enterprise hygiene licenses, and operated 60 enterprise hygiene licenses.

At the same time, the Guangdong Provincial Food and Drug Administration Bureau also linked with the public security authorities. As of September 20, the province had set a total of 715 cases of statistics and closed 403 cases involving more than 700 million yuan worth of goods, of which 38 cases had been transferred to public security agencies and 17 were detained; In combating illegal advertisements, the Guangdong Provincial Food and Drug Administration and the industry and commerce departments researched and established a linkage mechanism for cracking down on illegal health food advertisements. The number of illegal health food advertisements for television, radio, and newspaper media fell by about 90% year-on-year.

From May to the end of September 2013, in order to rectify and standardize the order of the health food market, the Guangdong Provincial Food and Drug Administration launched a special campaign against the “four non-aesthetics” of health foods in the province, focusing on cracking down on the illegal production, illegal operation and illegal use of health foods. Adding and illegally publicizing and other violations of law and regulations, the current special action has entered the final stage.
