In recent years, Hunan has vigorously promoted the new technology of clean pig breeding with biological fermentation beds. So far, nearly 2,400 pig farms have applied this technology, which can reduce about 1.5 million tons of manure every year.
Our province is the first province in which pigs are sold nationwide. The annual slaughter volume of pigs is around 80 million heads. The pig manure urine was laid on the fermentation mattress and the pig was turned over and over. Artificially assisted turning over, pig manure is mixed and fermented with the bedding of the fermentation bed, and the organic matter therein can be quickly decomposed and transformed. There is no dung, naturally there is no odor and mosquitoes and flies. It is reported that by the end of June this year, Weihong had developed 43 pig farms with biological fermentation beds. The quality of cold and fresh meat produced was excellent, and most of them were sold to Hong Kong.
According to experts, biological fermentation beds can be used to produce organic fertilizers after they have been decomposed and transformed into pig manure and achieved harmless treatment. Under normal circumstances, the feces of one pig can produce 60 kilograms of organic fertilizer each year. If it is fully extended to the Chang-Zhu-Tan area, it can produce 1.2 million tons of organic fertilizer each year. In addition, due to the fact that the biological pig bed clean pig raising technology adopts free food intake and automatic drinking, there is no need for excrement removal and washing, and the labor cost can be reduced by 50%, and the pig farm water consumption can be reduced by 70% to 90%.
